Using a standard label

To make label definition easy, FlexMail supports most standard label formats from the major label manufacturers. Each format is identified by the name of the supplier, a product number and the label size. If you use labels of other manufacturers, it will often match one of the predefined sizes in FlexMail.

To select a label size:

  1. On the Designer tab, in the Page Setup group, click the launch button that is located at the right-bottom corner.

The Page Setup window opens with the Paper page selected.

  2. Select the Paper Size from the list or specify the height and width in the boxes.

  3. Select Labels in the Page type group.

  4. Select the Label Size tab.

  5. In the Label products box, click the brand or label group you want to use.

NOTE: In the Label products box only the label products that correspond to the selected paper format are displayed. Therefore make sure that you have selected the correct paper size.

  6. In the Product number box, click the number of your label.

If the type of labels you want to use is not listed in the Product number box, you might be able to use one of the listed labels, or you can create your own custom labels.

Label options

Dependent upon the way you will be processing your labels, you might have specific requirements concerning the way your labels must be printed. You can select the printing order and you can print multiple copies per label.

To set label options:

  1. On the Designer tab, in the Page Setup group, click the launch button that is located at the right-bottom corner.

    The Page Setup window opens.

  2. Select the Label Options tab.

NOTE: The Label Options tab will only appear if you have selected Labels in the Page type group on the Page Size tab.

  3. Select the Printing order from the list:

    • Across, then down. Select this option if you want to print your labels per row, from left to right.

    • Down, then over. Select this option to print your labels per column, from top to bottom. Per column means: calculated over all printed pages, e.g. when you are printing 1000 labels in two columns, the first 500 labels in the left column and label number 501 to 1000 in the column on the right-hand side.

    • Cutting Order. Select this options if you are going to cut your pages after printing, This ordering will then result in piles with ascending label numbers. So, e.g. when you would have 4 labels per page and 1000 pages in total, label 2 would be on the second page behind label 1 on the first page, label 252 would be on the second page behind label 251 on the first page etc.

  4. If you want to print multiple copies of each label, specify the number you want in the Number of copies per label box.
