On 9-March-2021 Microsoft released an update for Windows 10 (KB5000802). Microsoft acknowleges
an error in this update that might cause a crash when attempting to print to certain printers
in some apps. The update can also effect apps in other unexpected ways.
The update impacts FlexMail and FlexStream in such a way that barcodes and scancodes are
not printed when printing directly to certain printers.
On 15-March Microsoft released an additional update (KB5001567) to fix the issues. We have tested
the fix and unfortunately the new update does not resolve the problems we have seen in FlexMail
and FlexStream.
We have reported the continuous problem to Microsoft and are working with them to further investigate
and resolve the issue. For now, if you are experiencing problems in our software, we recommend that
you uninstall update KB5000802. If you have also installed KB5001567 you need to uninstall that update
first. You do so by doing the following:
- Press Win+I to open the Settings app.
- Choose Update and Security.
- Click the View Update History link.
- Click the Uninstall Updates link.
- Choose the update you want to remove.
- Click the Uninstall button that appears on the toolbar.
After uninstalling the update(s), FlexMail and FlexStream should work correctly as before.
